On November 8, 2016, the Montour School District was the proud host of the Three Rivers Educational Technology Conference (TRETC). The conference was presented by the Pittsburgh Technology Council and sponsored by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, Remake Learning Network and The Sprout Fund.
TRETC 2016 provided opportunities for teachers and K-12 administrators to network with their peers and choose from a variety of professional development sessions to enhance classroom teaching abilities. The theme for TRETC 2016 was “Reimagining Technology in Learning,” and focused on the five key strategic areas from the National Educational Technology Plan: Learning/ Teaching / Leadership / Assessment / Infrastructure.
This year, TRETC grew to over 600 attendees, 50 ed-tech companies and 50 professional development sessions. In addition, TRETC showcased many of the region’s talented students and some of the region’s emerging technologies including Virtual Reality, Mobile Fab Lab’s and much more.
